I have been a business coach and consultant for over 20 years. I have had the great pleasure of helping people start their business, transform their business and sell their business successfully for all of that time. But just like many business owners I had my own struggles. I created a business that was way bigger than me with little help and a lot of overwhelm. Closing down my company was one of the hardest things I ever had to do. It changed my entire life. My income, my friends, my connections, my home life and living situation made me feel like my feet were knocked out from under me. Then came the illness. I was so stressed out and overwhelmed for so long that my body was shutting down on me. My cortisol was so high for a prolonged period of time that my body was going into kidney and liver failure. I had to make myself and my well being a top priority. This changed the way that I had done everything. It was no longer work and income first. It was health, family, well being, spirituality, and overall love of life that needed to take the front seat. Prosperity was of course something I still needed to focus on but it wasn’t my first go to anymore. I made a plan for myself that started with finding resources. Unfortunately for me, the resources I found were not quite what I was looking for. They were very vague and not very helpful, so I challenged myself to create something I could use to see where I was at and what I needed to do to get focused on what I was lacking in. I created what is now the Alignment Project Assessment. I took it for myself and recognized right away what I needed to work on and made a plan of action to start immediately. I took time to focus on my health, inner peace, kids, self love, confidence, relationships and my alignment. Meeting with my doctors where I was told I would have to be on heavy medication for 6 months to start fixing my health issues. I was only 3 months in and the doctors were shocked with my progress with no medication like they told me I was in desperate need of, and now being told whatever I was doing to keep it up because it was working. 

Even though I had dramatic changes in these areas I noticed things slipping in other areas. I realized that I needed to update the assessment to include preservation in the areas I was doing well in to keep doing well there. Like most people I set myself up to hyperfocus in the areas I needed to make change in and almost ignored the other areas which of course cause things to shift in those areas. I reflected a lot on what I needed and wanted for my ideal outcome and something amazing happened. I started to feel better, I wasn’t having as much pain when I walked, I felt confident again, my family life was getting better and so were all of my relationships, my income was creeping back up and I had found my purpose. I talked to a couple of friends and asked them to take the assessment and give me some feedback. They were surprised in what they learned about themselves in their assessment. Some even asked how to fix these issues. I had helped them in the same way I helped myself and they started seeing changes right away too. Their lives were getting better, their relationships were getting better and their business was taking off. 

I knew I had found my purpose. My purpose has always been to help people but I needed something that was personal to me, something that I created from a space of struggle to help others through their struggle. That was exactly what Alignment is all about. Alignment was created to help business owners in the space of burnout, overwhelm, over stressed and straight out just fucking tired. Your business cannot thrive when you are not. 

Having been a business coach and consultant for over 20 years and what I have seen year after year with company after company is when your life is not in the right alignment your business is either stagnant or failing. We cannot build from a space of depletion. We need to get ourselves into the right alignment to allow our business to thrive. 

When I sat back to reflect I realized I was just like you, my business was running me into the ground, I was living in chaos, I was over stressed and overworked. I was allowing everything else in my life to go to hell in a handbag for what? Money? Was it worth it? Hell no! I realized that closing my company was a blessing because it was no longer a place of happiness for me. It was a place of stress, overwhelm and chaos. I needed to create what brought me peace and calm, and love and happiness and a piece of paper didn’t do that for me. So I needed to change it. When I allowed myself to become the priority that I was supposed to be, everything changed. My income increased, my health got better, my confidence, my relationships, literally everything in my life got better! So I knew I had to help others create the same for themselves. Which is exactly where Alignment starts.
